Liz Hicks - Director | Accounts

Liz has been involved with all aspects of the business since she and Rod launched Streetside in 1981. Before that, she also worked at Australian Posters.

Like her husband, Liz was a bit ahead of the times juggling her entrepreneurial business responsibilities with caring for the four Hicks children.

Today, Liz has a hands-on role managing both StreetSide’s accounting and design departments.

Rod Hicks - Director

Rod’s vision to launch advertising-funded public furniture in WA is where it all started back in 1981. His diverse career was excellent preparation for the blend of practical application and business skills needed to become a successful entrepreneur in the 1980s.

Rod’s previous roles include State Works and Production Manager for Australian Posters – one of Australia’s largest outdoor advertising companies. He was also a Production Manager for a BHP-owned steel fabricator. Along the way, he gained wide experience in the field of sales and marketing.

Rod has worked tirelessly for nearly four decades to build a family business that’s helped improve the lives and landscape of WA communities. His role as one of Streetside’s directors keeps him pretty busy, but he always makes time for product design and contract negotiation.

Ben Hicks - Production Manager

Ben is committed to keeping Streetside a risk-free choice for local governments by exceeding service expectations.

Ben plans the placement of our external staff to consistently meet or exceed our current maintenance and production targets.

He coordinates our weekly inspection tours of all the metropolitan areas we service. He also ensures we have sufficient labour and materials to reliably fulfil our ongoing commitments.

With over 23 years on the team, Ben is also our health and safety representative. He oversees the responsible installation of our entire product range.

Amanda Brown - Research Consultant

Since joining the Streetside team over 12 years ago, Amanda has drawn on her background in sourcing information to become our research specialist.

Her primary focus is researching alternative manufacturing processes – an essential component of our strategy to continuously evolve our business. She also enjoys learning about the latest sales techniques.

The most complex part of Amanda’s role is legal and insurance research, which helps us make informed decisions about how we run our business.

Josh Hicks - General Manager | Public Relations

Josh is responsible for customer liaison, public relations and sales for our business. He’s the public face of the Streetside team.

After 15+ years of working in the business, Josh is passionate about the work we do. He heads up a compact but efficient team that takes care of all aspects of customer expectation – from complaints to compliments.

When he’s not meeting and helping local businesses with their advertising options, sign design, production, or queries, Josh is also our OHS Coordinator.

Kate Hicks - Credit Manager

If you have a query relating to invoicing, chances are you’ll speak to Kate, our very capable Credit Manager.

Kate is also responsible for taxation accounting and purchasing matters and has been a valuable member of the Streetside team for over 12 years. She also happens to be Josh’s wife.

Lee Hicks - Marketing Manager | Technology Advisor

In his marketing advisory role, Lee ensures our business employs consistent marketing strategies that are on brand and effective. He’s responsible for all ongoing marketing including promotional material, website and application input and design, promotions and branding.

Lee also liaises with our IoT designers and providers to continually upgrade the technological capabilities of our products.

Lee collaborates closely with our General Manager, Josh.
